Plant Whisperers is our blog section where, each month, we interview true Pilea lovers and plant enthusiasts all around the world!
This month we met Cait from @botanybox. She's a 25-year-old plant lover living in New York, who also created a lovely plant business. Keep reading to discover more about it!
I grew up in Northern Virginia, surrounded by tons of land, greenery, and gardens.
I remember that my mom used to love plants. She had many gardens around our house, and grew almost all our veggies from these gardens!
When I moved to NYC 2 years ago, I noticed a total lack in greenery - I had to do something about it!
Living with plants has so many benefits. People don't even know the half of them! Besides the air purification they provide - especially in a busy, not-so-clean city - plants also help your mood. They will increase your happiness: it's a real statistic!
I couldn't find any succulent sets that were reasonably priced, cute, and fairly large.
For this reason, I decided to take the matter into my own hands and create the perfect succulent box.
Each one of my boxes comes with four different plants, so no two will look alike or be the same! Additionally, you will get a water dropper and a care guide.
I am so excited to share with everyone that this year we are starting to sell small houseplants as well! Our website will soon have both succulent sets and indoor plant.
Currently, I have about 25 plants, and managing so many is helpful for me because it helps me with having a routine.
I've never sung or played music for them! But I heard about some studies that show it helps them grow.
Do I talk to my plants? Definitely.
I can't lie - I just moved to a new apartment, and my Pilea didn't survive!
Now I need to get another one as soon as possible.
Taking care of it was easy peasy. At first, I was scared that it was going to be complicated and finicky, but that was not the case at all!
I remember I used to water my Pilea about once a week or a week and a half.
I am on the hunt for a big Venus Fly Trap, but I can't find it here in NYC. Anybody out there who knows where I can buy one, please let me know!
